It was a wash out last night nov 5th Bonfire night...tonight (sat 06th) seems much the same but sounds more exciting though more party's more standing dithering in the rain, more burning of hard earned cash...anyway in a loose as f@ck link heres a Matt Henshaw/Reggimental video called Fire pit...its great and involves people dancing around a fire to funky ass funkhop..
Not so long ago i was frantically downloading tunes fro a friends birthday in Devon and i downloaded a track from this LP. In the rush an all i had mis-typed the title and didn't know who the track was by....the track was a stormer and i realised i knew both the title and the artist and today they release the debut self-titled long player LAZERSWORD.
There label press release from label Innovativeleisure reads: 'Lazer Sword is Bryant Rutledge(Low Limit) and Antaeus Roy (Lando Kal) who wrote and recorded the album in their former San Francisco stomping grounds before Rutledge moved to Los Angeles and Roy to Berlin. While the pair have dabbled in mixes, remixes and singles (including The Golden Handshake EP for the hotly tipped Numbers label), never until now have they realized a cohesive body of work.' Sounds good ehh??!!? Anyway listen to the nifty soundcloud mix from Lazersword to get the idea...its BIG...and HEAVY

I guess thats why Soapbox have ticked all the box's for me this time. A collaboration from Audio Pixel, Myke Forte and Soapbox. ‘In a time where the music industry seems to be failing, with a lack of creativity, and not much music being bought legitimately by the masses, I feel compelled to give people a reason to think otherwise. I have a passion for the “Arts” and how to combine various elements of the art form to really express myself as an individual but even more as an Artist.’ - Myke Forte
So go to the website for cool piano sample menu.....and free download of the soundtrack which is described by Kenzo as film for the blind and "viral musical sound art." COGS is a blend of multiple media and art genres and it explores new grounds for unconventional storytelling and ultimately gives rise to what Kenzo terms the world's first "Beat Cinematic". His instructions for listening to the mp3 is to sit in the dark with a blind fold on an listen intently....
So get blindfolded listen to the story and also take in the youtube clip (above) that comes with the zip you download.
Heres' last nights Boiler room with Special Guest HUDSON MOHAWK he killed it ...Snips and DJ Rags drop some pure gems too shouts to Tone for the heads up....booom
Yeah we listened and loved...its on strict rotation Joe Gutta's third and final instalment of his Cartoon hiphop series and it gets bigger and better on the back of a diary of live gigs, festival appearance's and radio shows he drops a 26track (including bonus track) mixtape through Bananaklan and Rusty Jukebox.
This time CARLOS MONTANA holds down a fair share of the hooks with his tight west coast vocal along with a remix of Matt Henshaws Adidas trainers. As far as Mc's are concerned is a more than decent show with the UN/Justy jukebox crew holdin things down like no others can BIGGA, REGGIMENTAL and WORDSMITH feature heavily also REVILO,VERB T,GADGET,SONNYJIM,DAN BULL,DANE JUROS,RUNAMUK,OSB,Z and someone that no doubt I've forgotten....but thats not all more cats are involved on the production front Unfriendly Neighbour's beatsmith JOE RIZZLE (2ndsuzpect) submits a couple of bangers with KELAKOVSKI, MR BOSS and WIZARD who not only produces heavily for the mixtape but has done a full remix tape soon to be released.....to much to mention including the fact that Joe himself also has a finger in the production with the Joey G Mix of Adidas trainers. Don't read this anymore go download for free now or stream below.....peace

Elaquent's first to buy LP dropped on the 26th june soze its avalible via itunes NOW...the forward thinking beatsmith from Toronto has dropped a series of beattapes before this all for free so dont forget to check those out via his myspace or here on earlier blog post. Below is a soundcloud preview and if you check his sc profile theres a couple more to eargasm over...
This ones been around for a minute now so we aint the first on this! having said that we dont publish posts on time and to the press release's we just blog shit we feel when we feel it. Myke Forte's fourth beat tape entitled Zodiak has been a grower...we feel this shit. Its not the sort of hiphop that gives the full soundscape an orchestrated piece does but its the sort of shit that neeeeds to be spit on...
Treacle (for those who don't know) is place the other side of Birmingham from us otherwise know to the locals as Nuneaton.... its probably as unremarkable as were i live (walsall) ...or maybe not but one thing to be said is there is a kick ass little enterprise flowering its first few fruit full buds of goodness for us all too see.
Treacle clothing has entered the foggy world of t-shirt peddling which any tom dick and harry can do and lets face it they do. There are more crap thoughtless T-shirts with same same design work plastic printed on them than you can shake a stick at, but whilst shaking your stick i guarantee you will look at these baby's more than once. Only four designs deep and already i bought one, it arrived next day and to my delight is made from a good thick durable material with a deep screen printed design on which was provided by one the midlands big bwoy graff artists Phil Blake....
With promises of more artist features and no doubt some half decent business acumen behind it I'm sure Treacle Clothing's gonna kick ass for a good while too come..
Get it while its hot not when everones jumping on it...
This ones gonna be a banger and the final installment of Joe's Legendary series Cartoon Hiphop. Joe's relentless sometimes violent and beautifully crafted verses are accompanied by heat from his longtime partner Bigga (unfriendly neighbours), Verb T, Wordsmith, Matlock, Reggimental, Sonnyjim and Carlos Montana with production from UN beatsmith Second Suzpect, Kelakovski and Pete Cannon. There will also be a single release from this tape too..produced by Kelakovski"you are the king" is a classic UK head nodder about becoming of age and becoming a father
All in all there's 25 tracks full free bandcamp downloads and stream bringing you another small insight into the world of Joe G-zus...

REPOST FROM XLR8R (see here) shouts to Percy filith and Kosyne for the hook up x 2
When it comes to the production of wonky beats, Los Angeles and the UK are more or less the world's power centers. Yet thanks to the efforts of Onra, Paris just might force its way into the conversation. This week, the soulful producer is releasing his latest album, Long Distance, via Dublin-based All City Records, and we've got an exclusive chance to preview the entire full-length here on XLR8R.com. With a sound that incorporates boogie, hip-hop, '80s soul and R&B, washy synths, and rubber basslines, Long Distance is one potent listen. In fact, we advise that you simply stop reading this, peep the artwork, and listen to the album's 21(!) tracks on the player below.

All i can say about Louis Den is "sick" bad meaning good....Its special.. producers from Scotland, England and Wales congregate in Birmingham to network, showcase and compete. Apart from havingJehst, Ralph rip shit, Scamma, Fozzie, Sonny Jim, and Redbeard ...there were producers that have produced for Havoc (mobb deep), Sean Price (bootcamp), Red Cafe, Sha Stimuli, Infamous Mobb, Immortal Technique, Agallah, Dudley Perkins, Oddisse, Guilty Simpson, Lupe Fiasco and more im sure you would have struggled to get that may heads together anywhere in the world
As far a the UK is concernedI'm struggling to name anyMc's that are not backed by the people in that room....
If your into beats and or just hiphop for that matter you need to check LOUISDEN beat battles...there off the chain.
