Back in
June last year we posted up a picture we had seen on another blog of a south
African guy in half traditional dress half western throwback items, on the biggest chain you have ever seen he had a huge hyena tethered as your average
badboy would have a
pitbull...it echoed gangsta but in way no intentional
rudebwoy wanting to look
tuff could. That was a
intensely moving image and here and there other similar pictures have
pop'ed up so over
Christmas we had a little
rummage and found Pieter Hugo.
Not
alot is known about Pieter apart from he is a white south
African photographer who is hell bent on exposing the pain and suffering off
Africa along with the interesting and bizarre. Bare rugged litter strewn landscapes, reality and
bizarre seem to be the main themes along with
some more harrowing subjects tackled beautifully by this master of the lens..
